The Affairs of Susan

Susan Darell is a stage actress. She has been overseas entertaining the troops. Now she is back in New York. She decides to marry not long after she returns. The man is Richard Aiken, and they have known each other only a few weeks. That unsettles him, and he begins to wonder about her past. He tracks down three of her former suitors and gets them talking. Each of them describes a different Susan. To one she was a girl from the country who went on stage reluctantly. To the second she was a woman who loved a party. To the third she was serious and well read. Three portraits of the same person come out of it, and the film was nominated for an Academy Award for its original writing. Joan Fontaine and George Brent appear in the hundred and ten minute film, an American production William A. Seiter finished in 1945.
