What The Black Sheep Is About
Don Cruz is irresponsible, quarrelsome, unfaithful to his wife and answerable to nobody, while his son Silvano is a young man who cannot bring himself to judge his father and is being crushed by that loyalty. From the golden age of Mexican cinema, the film handles domestic authority by sliding between melodrama and comedy, and takes most of its force from the scenes between Pedro Infante and Fernando Soler. Ismael Rodríguez shot it at the same time as its sequel, No desearás la mujer de tu hijo; the two are halves of one story.
