What No desearás la mujer de tu hijo Is About
Don Cruz is an old man who falls for a young woman newly arrived in the house. He does not know there is something between her and his son, who lives under the same roof. The son sees his father's condition and cannot say anything about it. A tension nobody will speak of grows inside the family: father and son want the same woman and neither can admit it to the other. In the end it breaks open. Ismael Rodríguez directs, with Fernando Soler as the father and Pedro Infante as the son. It is among the best known family melodramas in Mexican cinema and is spoken of together with the films that continued it. What it is about is not love but where a father's authority ends.
