The Exam

Rojin is a young Kurdish woman. She is about to sit the university entrance exam. Her elder sister Shilan stands by her. Shilan is inside an unhappy marriage. She wants her sister to build a freer life. So she decides to do whatever it takes for her to pass. But the road she chooses leads them elsewhere. The two sisters enter a large network of corruption. The network reaches into every part of society. Turning back grows harder as they go. The account is built on that trap. Avan Jamal and Vania Salar take the leads, with Hussein Hassan Ali and Nigar Osman also in the cast, in Shawkat Amin Korki’s German, Iraqi and Qatari coproduction of 2021.
