What The Octopuses from the Second Floor Is About
On holiday with their constantly bickering parents, Eva and her little brother Johnny find two strange octopuses in a polluted lake. The creatures can think, they can make themselves understood, and the material they are made of draws electricity to itself. The two children bring them home and decide to keep them as pets. But hiding a creature that pulls electricity in a block of flats is not as easy as it looks, and the building is soon in an uproar. The film uses both the fairy tale and the science fiction side of Czechoslovak children’s cinema of the eighties. Jindrich Polak’s film was completed in 1987.
