What The Story of a Summer Lover Is About
Petru teaches mathematics at the technical university and lives an easy life with no great worries. He is in an open relationship with Irina, who has agreed that he may sleep with other women from time to time. But when Irina becomes pregnant he is put in the position of having to change his way of living and grow up at forty two. One of the friends around him decides to write a book out of his story. The film does not offer maturity as a reward and does not punish the man either. The account leans on conversation and passes through its situations without drawing them out. The friend’s book adds a second view to the story. Alexandru Papadopol plays the lead in Paul Negoescu’s ninety nine minute Romanian film, completed in 2018.
