The Typewriter, the Rifle & the Movie Camera

The documentary is about Samuel Fuller. It is divided into three parts. They are named the typewriter, the rifle and the movie camera. The first part covers his years in newspapers. Fuller started at the very bottom of the newsroom. He ended up a reporter. The second part covers the Second World War. Fuller went into that war as a soldier. The third part is given to his work as a director. Tim Robbins conducts the interview. Fuller talks through his own memories and impressions. Jim Jarmusch, Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino add their comments. The three titles are really three states of the same eye. Samuel Fuller and Tim Robbins speak in the fifty five minute documentary, a British and American co-production Adam Simon finished in 1996.
