Through Main Street with an Orchestra

Vasily Muravin is fifty. He teaches at an institute in Moscow. His life has come to a standstill. The step up he expected at work does not come. The head of department post goes to somebody else. The man who gets it is Valentin Romanovsky. Home is no easier, since his wife Lida earns more than he does. She keeps throwing his indecision back at him. There is one thing Muravin holds on to. He likes to play the guitar. His wife makes little of that too, and it is what wounds him most. One day he cannot take it and walks out of both the house and the job. Oleg Borisov and Lidiya Fedoseyeva-Shukshina appear in the eighty nine minute film, a Soviet production Pyotr Todorovskiy finished in 1986.
