What To Be Takei Is About
As a child, George Takei and his family were shut in internment camps in the United States during the Second World War because they were of Japanese descent. Years later he played Sulu at the helm of the Enterprise, and later still became one of the most followed people on the internet. The documentary tells these three lives together with his daily life alongside his husband Brad. Takei only came out in 2005, after the veto of a same sex marriage bill. It does not hide the long running friction with the Star Trek cast either.
