What Wedding night Is About
At a seaside resort, four newly married couples who do not realise they know each other turn up at the same time, all of them expecting the night of their lives. Nothing goes as planned for any of them; misunderstandings, waiting outside doors and coincidences pile up until the night ends somewhere else entirely. Giannis Dalianidis’ film is among the best known comedies of sixties Greek popular cinema, produced by Finos Film. Kostas Voutsas, Martha Karagianni, Faidon Georgitsis and Betty Arvaniti take the leads. It opened in December 1967 and sold more than half a million tickets in Greece. A comedy of misunderstanding running four separate threads at once, and much loved by the audience of its day.
