What Wrong Side Up Is About

Petr loads and unloads freight at Prague airport, a job that is taking him nowhere, and his fiancee Jana has left him for a man with better prospects. He wants her back. He is also dealing with his parents, particularly a mother who campaigns for world peace while her own household falls apart. Petr Zelenka adapted the film from his own play, staged in 2001 and winner of the Alfred Radok Award. It lines up one person after another living at the edge of what counts as normal and never humiliates any of them for it, sitting instead at the point where love looks like madness and madness looks like love.
