Your Letter

Kim Yong-hwan's 2025 Korean animation follows So-ri, who changes schools after the summer holiday. She finds an unsigned letter in her desk drawer; the letter introduces the school and describes where to find the next one. The film builds that pursuit like a treasure hunt. As So-ri finds the letters in order she learns the corners of the school and the past of the person who wrote them; the narrative keeps the mystery curious rather than frightening. The real subject is settling into a new place. So-ri knows no one, and the letters give her both a guide and a friend; the narrative gives that loneliness not through large scenes but in quiet moments in corridors. Who it's for: those who like Korean animation and school-set stories about young people. Who it's not for: viewers expecting action; the film is calm and largely interior.
