In Rajamouli's Eega a young fireworks maker is killed by his rival in love and comes back to the world as a housefly to take his revenge; the camera imitates the fly's erratic flight and he built his own visual language on that vantage. He did not go to film school or finish university, entering the industry as an editing assistant and by working in a sound recording room. He says he took his way of telling from comics, from Hollywood epics and from the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. His father V. Vijayendra Prasad wrote the screenplays of most of his films. The great success of Bahubali: The Beginning and Bahubali 2: The Conclusion, split into two parts, and then of RRR, made him the most visible director in India. RRR brings two real historical figures, Raju and the revolutionary leader Komaram Bheem, together in a fictional friendship, and one member of parliament threatened to burn down the cinema and to beat him unless a shot was cut from it.
