Vikramarkudu

An action film set in India. Attili Sattibabu is a small-time thief. He picks pockets, runs minor swindles and is after nothing large. A little girl runs into him and takes him for her father. The girl's father is a police inspector named Vikram Rathore and the two look exactly alike. He was killed fighting a criminal organisation in one district. Sattibabu has to take the child home. The village they reach is where Rathore served, and everyone there takes him for the inspector believed dead. When the gang leader who holds the district hears of it, he moves. At first Sattibabu tries to correct the mistake. Then he sees how the villagers look at him and decides to keep the part going. The structure follows the known pattern of Indian action cinema: mistaken identity, a story of heroism told in flashback, songs and large fight sequences. Ravi Teja plays both Sattibabu and Rathore. Anushka Shetty is in the cast. S. S. Rajamouli directed; in later years he became internationally known with far larger productions. The film was a large box office success and was remade in several languages. A satisfying choice for anyone who likes Indian action cinema. For a viewer looking for realism, the fight scenes care nothing for physics.
