A Sigh

Liang Yazhou writes scripts. He works in television. He is middle-aged and from Beijing. He goes to Hainan to work on something new. An assistant is assigned to him there. Her name is Li Xiaodan. She is young and new to the work. Something starts between them. There is a wife at home, called Song Xiaoying. What happens carries back into the house, and the writer is caught between two lives. The film does not soften where that goes. It looks at what is left in the man himself as well. Wang Shuo wrote the screenplay, and the film opened on 20 September 2000. Zhang Guoli, Xu Fan, Liu Bei and Fu Biao appear in the hundred and ten minute film, a Chinese production Feng Xiaogang finished in 2000.
