Actor in Law

A young man who wants to be an actor gives in to his father’s pressure and takes up law instead. He treats the courtroom as a stage, and his talent for performance quickly makes him a name. Once he starts winning cases for ordinary people by standing up to the powerful, his own qualifications and his past are called into question, and the film hardens from that point on. What begins in a comic mould turns into something with things to say about the courts, the media and corruption. With this film the Indian actor Om Puri appeared in a Pakistani production for the first time, playing the father. Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat are also in Nabeel Qureshi’s hundred and fifteen minute film, completed in 2016.
