Dhadak 2

Shazia Iqbal's 2025 Indian film treats caste through a law faculty. Neelesh is an idealistic student from an oppressed community who realises at once that nothing in his prestigious new school belongs to him, in language, dress or manner. His friendship with Vidhi lets him breathe for a while, but the hierarchy around them will not accept that either, and a series of events lays bare the structure he was trying to escape. The film shows caste discrimination not as an individual evil but as an order settled inside institutions. It uses the shape of a love story while describing oppression rather than romance. The tone is hard and the ending offers no relief. Who it's for: viewers who like Indian drama on social questions. Who it's not for: anyone expecting a light romance; the story contains violence and humiliation.
