What Door on the Left as You Leave the Elevator Is About
The painter Yan is at home waiting for his girlfriend Florence when the bell rings and his neighbour Eva is at the door in her underwear, locked out and asking for help. While he is climbing across the balcony into her flat the phone rings, Eva's jealous boyfriend comes home, Florence arrives, and then Florence's husband arrives too. What follows is pure farce: doors, balconies, misunderstandings and a night in which nobody manages to tell the truth. Edouard Molinaro knows the rhythm of stage comedy. The title is simply a direction, and that door is the whole thing.
