Harriet Boyd works in New York. Her job is modelling for a firm in the garment district. She wants to make her own designs. For that she needs capital. She talks the owner of the firm into it. They take a salesman in with them as well. The three of them set up their own company. Harriet moves quickly. Her target is a deal with the department stores. On that road she spares nobody. She uses even her own sister as a means. Meanwhile her relationship with the man she loves goes on. In the end she has to choose between the two. Susan Hayward and Dan Dailey take the leads, with George Sanders and Sam Jaffe also in the cast, in Michael Gordon’s American film of 1951.
