Korkusuz Korkak

A Yeşilçam comedy starring Kemal Sunal. Mülayim is a clerk in an office. He is what his name suggests: he never raises his voice, opposes nobody, and everyone walks over him. One day he goes to hospital for tests. The doctor gives him the result: six months, and nothing to be done. The news changes him. With nothing left to lose he becomes fearless: he answers back to his boss, stands up to bullies and does things nobody else will. The people around him start seeing him differently. Then he finds waiting tedious and makes a decision: he hires a killer to shoot him. At the same time word comes from the hospital. The tests were mixed up; he is perfectly healthy. Now he has to get away from the man he hired. The humour comes from that inversion, and the film carries the typical shape of Turkish comedy of its period: types, fast dialogue and physical gags. For a viewer expecting a modern production, the technical conditions belong to its time and the pacing is loose.
