Trickster

Rıfkı has been working in Germany for years. When his father dies he goes back to the village to sell what he inherited, and within days a run of coincidences has the villagers treating him as a saint. They pray for rain and it rains. He blows on the sick, he unblocks people's luck, he gets the lame walking, and his reputation grows. The people who want to use that reputation are not slow either: they want him to run for mayor, and the rival candidate offers him money to drop out. One of Kemal Sunal's eighties comedies, mocking exploitation, superstition and election-buying at the same time. Ali Şen and Turgut Özatay make the cast around him strong. Natuk Baytan directs.
