Aris comes out after three years in prison and arrives in Troumba, the Piraeus district known for its night places and its underworld. He is not there to settle his own accounts but to find out whether Lola, who works in Stelios’s cabaret, was among those who gave him up. Aris wants to get her out of there, but Stelios, who is also in love with her, hires a man to kill him. Dinos Dimopoulos directed, from a screenplay by Ilias Liberopoulos. Jenny Karezi plays Lola and Nikos Kourkoulos plays Aris. It opened on 17 February 1964 and sold 313,822 tickets that season. Some sources give the title as Lola of Troumba, because the district itself is one of the film’s main characters.
