Christos Parlas What The Orgies Villa Is About
A parliamentary candidate and his mistress have to spend the night at the police station because of a scandal. The man’s standing, his connections and his social position are not enough to get him out of it; he has to wait his turn like anyone else before the law, and the waiting brings out one by one everything he had been hiding. The film builds this not as a moral lesson but as the comedy of the gap between a politician’s image and his reality. In Dinos Dimopoulos’s eighty four minute Greek comedy, Labros Konstadaras, Kakia Analyti and Dionysis Papagiannopoulos appear, with Andreas Douzos and Giannis Vogiatzis in the cast. It was completed in 1964 and is one of the Greek comedies of the decade that took aim at politicians.
