Antigoni Koukouli What Theodore and the gun Is About
A father well behind his own time, and used to having the last word, is looking for an honest, decent husband for his daughter. The measures in his head are not the ones of the present but the ones of his own youth, so he tests every candidate in his own way, and the double barrelled gun he keeps is part of that test. What the daughter wants is the last question anyone asks. The film works in the mould of Greek comedies of the sixties: the town, the family, the bargaining over a marriage, and the young winning in the end. Mimis Fotopoulos and Smaroula Giouli appear in Dinos Dimopoulos’s ninety eight minute film, completed in 1962.
