Ma and Pa Kettle at the Fair

The Kettle family lives on a farm. They have one worry. Their daughter Rosie wants to go to college. But the school needs money. The family hopes to raise it at the county fair. There are contests of all kinds at the fair. The mother enters the baking contest. The father enters a horse race. He puts his own trotter into it. Both of them are after a prize. Meanwhile Rosie meets somebody at the fair. The young man is called Marvin Johnson. Something starts between the two of them. That is how the days of the fair go by. Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride take the leads, with James Best and Lori Nelson also in the cast, in Charles Barton’s American film of 1952.
