What The Noose Hangs High Is About
Two window washers are taken for the men a bookie sent to collect fifty thousand dollars. The money reaches them, then gets mixed up in the post, arrives at somebody else entirely, and that person spends it. The bookie needs exactly that money to settle with a client. This is the only film Abbott and Costello made away from Universal; their new contract with the studio allowed one outside picture a year, and they shot this one at Eagle-Lion. Charles Barton directed, as usual. It is a remake of Universal's 1939 For Love or Money. Joseph Calleia, Leon Errol and Mike Mazurki are in the cast.
