What The Time of Their Lives Is About
During the American Revolutionary War two people are wrongly branded traitors and killed. Their spirits are bound to the estate and cannot leave it until their innocence is proved. Some two centuries later the house is made habitable again and new people move in. To find the letter signed by George Washington that would clear their names, the two ghosts have to deal with them. Charles Barton directs, with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. But the pair break their usual arrangement here: they are not a double act but on opposite sides. That is why the film counts as one of the strangest things Abbott and Costello did.
