What One Piece: The Movie Is About
The pirate crew go after a man who claims to have the map to a legendary treasure. Another pirate looking for the same treasure is on the way. This is the first cinema film of the series and runs under an hour; the narrative hangs on a single chase and does not look for character development. It carries the feel of the early episodes. Junji Shimizu directed, based on Eiichiro Oda's manga. Before watching: it sits outside the main story and does not introduce the characters to newcomers. Given the length, treat it as an episode-sized extra.
