Passions

Lilia and Violetta take an interest in horse racing. Both of them move into the world around it. The young riders take an interest in them as well. But the world of sport and love do not always sit together. The two women learn that the hard way. The encounters are touching at times and strange at others. Some of them are painful. The account moves through those encounters. Horses and the track are the fixed elements of the film. The work was shown at the Berlin and Kinotavr festivals. At Kinotavr it took the jury and critics prizes. Svetlana Kolenda and Renata Litvinova take the leads, with Albina Skarga and Sergei Popov also in the cast, in Kira Muratova’s Russian film of 1994.
