Premalu

Sachin has finished university, his plan to go abroad has fallen through, and he moves in with a friend in Hyderabad. There he meets Reenu, who works at a software company, has her own life in order and needs nobody. Sachin makes his interest known, Reenu does not take it seriously, and there is a rival from her office in between. Girish A. D. uses the classic romantic comedy template without exalting his protagonist: Sachin is mostly ridiculous, sometimes irritating, and is not proved right. Naslen and Mamitha Baiju star. The rhythm of the dialogue and the scenes with the group of friends are the real strength. It became an unexpected box office phenomenon in Malayalam cinema and brought young audiences back into cinemas. Who it is for: viewers who like Indian romantic comedy and youth stories. Who it is not for: anyone looking to be surprised.
