What Saudagar Is About
Two men who were friends as children have become mortal enemies over the years; they have divided the land between them and sworn to kill anyone who crosses the line. Years later their grandchildren fall in love, and when the affair comes out the old feud flares up again. The young pair are told never to see each other again on pain of death. They meet anyway, and from that point there is no way back for either family. Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar face each other in Subhash Ghai’s film of more than three and a half hours; it is also one of Manisha Koirala’s earliest pictures. The production was completed in 1991.
