SUGA | Agust D TOUR 'D-DAY' THE MOVIE

The film records the solo tour of SUGA of BTS. The tour played more than twenty cities across America, Asia and Korea, and the film contains both the stage recordings and the preparation. The staging, the rehearsals, the sound checks and what happened along the way are shown. Park Jun-soo directs. It was shown in cinemas in 2024. Its most concrete part is the stage design; a separate arrangement was built for each song and how it was transported is shown. The tour was the artist's last work before beginning military service, and the film carries that in the background. The narrative is not only concert footage; the exhaustion backstage, the problems with his voice and the density of the schedule are shown directly. It was made by the group's own company and there is no critical distance. The last section is given to the closing concert in Seoul and is the best shot part of the film. Who it is for: BTS listeners and anyone who likes watching concert films in a cinema. Who it is not for: there is no narrative for a viewer uninterested in the artist, the structure repeats, and the film is a record of a tour and nothing else.
