Takeshi: Childhood Days

The film is set in Japan during the war years. The account runs from the world of children. Takeshi is a fisherman’s son. He is a clever boy. He is also the bully of the schoolyard. One day his cousin comes to stay with the family. The cousin is to stay in the country to escape the bombing raids. Takeshi treats him well at first. Then he begins to bully him too. That behaviour changes the balance around him. Takeshi loses his place as leader in time. The film was adapted from a novel and keeps the war in the background. The events take place in the countryside. A train holds a place inside the account as well. Tetsuya Fujita and Yuji Horioka take the leads in Masahiro Shinoda’s Japanese film of 1990, which runs a hundred and nineteen minutes.
