What The Harder They Fall Is About
Eddie Willis is a sportswriter out of work. A promoter offers him a job: publicise a giant of a boxer brought over from Argentina. The trouble is the man cannot punch, every fight is bought, and nobody has told him. Eddie takes the money, files the copy, fills the halls, and notices at every step how much easier lying to himself is getting. Adapted from Budd Schulberg's novel, which drew on a real fighter's career. Bogart's last film, and more locker room than ring.
