What The Overtaxed Is About
Pezzella owns a well-established luxury clothing shop and neither likes paying tax nor thinks it right. So he takes on a tax adviser to find ways of evading more of it. A revenue inspector turns up, and a long game of cat and mouse starts between the two men. Aldo Fabrizi plays the shopkeeper and Totò the inspector; Louis de Funès has a small part. Steno directed; a hundred minutes. It was made in a country where tax evasion was close to a national sport, and the satire still holds.
