Antonio Scannagatti, a provincial musician, chases a famous impresario in the hope of getting him to listen to the great work he has written, and never manages to catch him. The whole film is built on that pursuit and every stop is a new gag. Its best known passage is the sequence in the sleeping car, one of the most remembered moments in Italian comedy. The production is cited as the first Italian feature shot in Ferraniacolor, so colour itself is a novelty here. Directed by Steno, and a good place to start with Toto.
