What The Plunderers Is About
Four young men ride into the small town of Trail City and take it for easy pickings; they pull their guns, put the shops under tribute and frighten people in the street, and nobody stands against them. The men of the town choose to mind their business and keep quiet. Sam Christy, a rancher who came back crippled from the Civil War, finally gets to his feet, and now the town too has to take a side. The film builds the western on cowardice and responsibility, and does not glorify the violence. Jeff Chandler and John Saxon appear in Joseph Pevney’s ninety four minute American film. It was completed in 1960.
