What The Priest's Children Is About
Don Fabijan, a young priest posted to a small island in the Adriatic, is troubled by the falling population and decides to solve it his own way: he pierces the condoms before they are sold. The newsagent Petar and the pharmacist Marin join in, and between them they remove every form of birth control on the island one by one. The consequences go somewhere nobody planned for. Vinko Brešan adapted Mate Matišić's controversial stage play, with Matišić writing the screenplay. The Church objected loudly and the film became the highest grossing Croatian production.
