(Tillu)²

Mallik Ram's 2024 Telugu film is the sequel to DJ Tillu from 2022. Trying to recover from the heartbreak Radhika inflicted, Balagangadhar Tilak returns to what he does best: DJing, a flamboyant lifestyle and running the family events business. Then a new woman and a new criminal arrangement enter his life. Siddhu Jonnalagadda both stars and writes; the character's constantly talking, self-satisfied but likeable register is the whole identity of the film. The sequel loses the tight plotting of the original and drifts into an episodic structure. It was a large commercial success in Telugu cinema. The writing of the woman character is weaker than in the first film. Who it's for: viewers who like Telugu commercial comedy and follow the DJ Tillu series. Who it's not for: anyone starting without the first film, or who will object to how the woman character is written.
