What U2: Zoo TV - Live from Sydney Is About
The recording was made on 27 November 1993 at Sydney Football Stadium during the Australian leg of the Zoo TV tour and went out worldwide on pay-per-view. The set leans heavily on Achtung Baby and Zooropa, and Bono appears as Mister MacPhisto, a satanic lounge act of a character. The words and images running across thirty-six screens take up as much room as the concert. Directed by David Mallet, it came out on home video in 1994 and won the Grammy for best long-form music video. It is the document of the moment a band tried to turn a stadium into a television broadcast.
