What What War May Bring Is About

Ilva works as an usher in a Paris cinema and builds her life on whom she loves. Politics do not interest her, only passion does. First she falls for a charismatic German officer, which drops her into a place everyone reads as collaboration. Then, around the Liberation, two American soldiers cross her path, a boxer and a photojournalist, and loving both of them does nobody any good. Claude Lelouch tells it from a courtroom looking backwards, with an orchestra running underneath. Our two records contradict each other here: the English one puts Ilva inside the Resistance, the Turkish one says the opposite.
