A Modern Musketeer

At the centre of the account is a young man. He lives in a small town in Kansas. Town life feels narrow to him. His mind is on the Three Musketeers. He imagines himself inside those stories. One day he decides to set out. In place of a horse he has a Model T Ford. He jumps into the car and heads west. Along the way he gets into all sorts of scrapes. Fights and chases follow one another. The idea of heroism meets the real thing. On the road he also meets a woman. Kathleen Kirkham and Frank Campeau are in the cast as well. The film is listed as an adventure comedy. Douglas Fairbanks and Marjorie Daw take the leads in Allan Dwan’s American film of 1917.
