Batman & Bill

Batman & Bill, co-directed by Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce, premiered on Hulu on May 6, 2017; it follows the fight for recognition of Batman's real co-creator Bill Finger, a campaign started by author Marc Tyler Nobleman's 2012 book Bill the Boy Wonder. An important chronological detail: DC Entertainment's official agreement with Finger's family, which mandated the credit "Created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger" on all future Batman productions, was signed in 2015, two years before the documentary aired, meaning the documentary chronicles the fight leading to that recognition rather than triggering it. Who it's for: anyone curious about a decades long legal and cultural fight for recognition of Batman's real co-creator. Who it's not for: viewers assuming the documentary itself triggered that recognition, since the official agreement was signed two years earlier.
