What Captains Courageous Is About

Harvey, the arrogant and spoiled son of a distant father, falls overboard from a transatlantic liner and is picked up by a fishing schooner working the Grand Banks. He cannot persuade anyone to take him ashore, and cannot convince the crew that he is rich either. The captain gives him a low paid job until they reach port, and the boy works for the first time in his life. What actually changes him is his bond with Manuel, a Portuguese fisherman.
