What Free!: Timeless Medley - The Bond Is About
The film is a compilation put together from a television series. Episodes from the second season above all, and some from the first, are brought together. At the centre are Haru and the Iwatobi swimming club. Scenes never shown before have been added, and familiar faces from another series make brief appearances. The account does not build a new story; it rearranges what already exists. It is a story of young people moving through swimming, friendship and school life. The word for bond in the title points to the friendships that are made. The ninety five minutes are used to make one whole out of the compilation. Eisaku Kawanami’s Japanese animation was completed in 2017.
