Saint Seiya Heaven Chapter: Overture

After the war with Hades, Athena shields the surviving Bronze Saints, but an order from the heavens does not permit them to live. Artemis takes the goddess's place and Seiya and his friends face the warriors of Olympus itself. Shigeyasu Yamauchi directed; it is the fifth theatrical film in the series and opened in February 2004. The word overture in the title was not decoration, since the film was designed as an opening rather than a close; no continuation ever came and the story was left where it stood. The visual design departs noticeably from the television series, with sharper character drawing and a colder palette. For anyone who does not know the series this is not an entry point but the opposite. Who it is for: followers of Saint Seiya and viewers who like post-nineties anime features. Who it is not for: newcomers to the series, since the film explains nothing.
