Swordsman and Enchantress

The film was adapted from the novels of Ku Lung. The story takes place in the world of the martial arts. At the centre of it is a weapon called the Deer Cutting Sword. The blade was forged from nine kinds of steel. Everyone in that world wants to get hold of it. The man it is meant for is Lian Chengbi. A young girl, though, hijacks the sword on the road. She says she is acting on behalf of Xiao. Xiao is a master who is never where people look for him. Meanwhile the wife of Lian, Chen, is kidnapped. She is taken by one group and then passed to another. Xiao steps in and saves her. Her wound is poisoned and has to be treated. Xiao takes her to his house up in the hills. From that point the story turns into a matter of attachment. The struggle over the sword goes on in the background. Ti Lung and Ching Li appear in the eighty six minute film, a Hong Kong production Chor Yuen finished in 1978.
