What Death Duel Is About
The Third Master gave up the title of the world's finest swordsman after winning it, and disappeared. He now works as a servant in a brothel and nobody knows who he is. The title will not let him go: challengers are looking for him everywhere, because whoever kills him becomes the first in the world. Among them is Yen Shi-san, reckoned the second. Chor Yuen's Shaw Brothers film is adapted from a novel by Gu Long. It was Derek Yee's first feature role and won him best actor that year. What the film is really about is not fighting but a man's inability to get out from under his own reputation.
