Osman works as a porter and lives in a cramped house with his wife, his children and his mother-in-law. He owes money to every shopkeeper on the street and to his landlord, and at home he is needled without pause. One day Sakir, who sells lottery tickets in the neighbourhood, forces one on him. Osman hides the ticket and forgets where he put it. Then word goes round that the jackpot was won on one of Sakir's tickets, and Osman becomes certain it is his. Directed by Kartal Tibet, it belongs to the run of films Kemal Sunal made at the end of the eighties. The shape is familiar: the trodden-on little man, a fortune that turns overnight, and the real faces that come out afterwards. The pairing with Yasemin Yalcin is the best thing in it. Under the comedy sits how quickly everyone changes once money appears.
