What The yellow gloves Is About
Orestis is a man permanently jealous of his wife. He suspects the chauffeur, he suspects the neighbour, he suspects everything. One day he finds a pair of yellow gloves in the house and sees that they are not his. A story assembles itself in his head at once. The gloves in fact belong to somebody else entirely. Alekos Sakellarios's Greek comedy is the work of one of the most productive directors of Greek cinema in the fifties and sixties. Nikos Stavridis and Mimis Fotopoulos are in the cast. The pattern rests entirely on misunderstanding: every explanation makes matters worse. The tone is light, and the jealousy is not justified but laughed at.
